7 Signs That You're an Old Married Couple

7 Signs That You're an Old Married CoupleYou don't have to be old to act like an old married couple. Hey, you don't even have to be officially married. A lot of couples start acting like they've been married for decades after a few years in a committed relationship. Here are 7 signs that you're an old married couple.

Sign #1. You prefer staying in to going out. Remember when you used to go on dates at least once a week? Well, these times are gone, and you can't even remember the last time you went on a date. These days, you prefer to stay in on your sofa, order take-out and binge-watch TV shows. Preferably in your lounge clothes.

Sign #2. You prefer sleeping to having sex. Sex is great. Sex is awesome. But do you know what is also awesome? Sleep! You don't have sex marathons in the middle of the week anymore because you're responsible adults who have to wake up early in the morning because they have jobs. Also, you need your beauty sleep. Sex can wait.

Sign #3. You fight less. When you were younger and just started dating, you used to take everything too personally and have huge fights over small things. But you've learned to compromise and refrain from saying hurtful things. Of course, you still bicker a lot, but there is not malice in your bickering, it's just your way of keeping each other on your toes.

Sign #4. Sometimes people think that you share one brain. First, you constantly finish each other's sentences because you know each other really well. Second, you have a lot of inside jokes, and sometimes people can't even understand what's going on when you start talking in code. Conclusion: you either share one brain or have a weird telepathic bond.

Sign #5. Goodbye to fancy lingerie, hello to comfy loungewear. You've seen each other at your best and at your worst, so you don't need to dress to impress anymore. Lingerie might make an occasional appearance in your bedroom, but your prefer comfortable cotton underwear to sheer fabric and lace. You also own more sweatshirts, sweatpants, and pajamas than you used to. Hey, you even have matching baggy T-shirts. How cute!

Sign #6. Silence. You don't have to talk all the time to feel close. You can spend considerable amounts of time in silence, each of you doing their own thing, and it won't be awkward or uncomfortable. Sometimes several hours can pass before one of you talks first.

Sign #7. You think that there is nothing wrong with taking separate vacations. You've lost count of the vacations you spend together, and now you think that taking separate vacations isn't a bad idea. It will give each of you an opportunity to enjoy some alone time or catch up with friends, you won't have to adjust your schedules or compromise while planning. It's a win-win!
