4 DIY Face Masks with Hemp Seed Oil

4 DIY Face Masks with Hemp Seed OilAlthough hemp seed oil isn’t as popular as, for example, coconut oil or grapeseed oil, it is considered one of the best skincare oils due to its light texture and high polyunsaturated fat content. If you’re into DIY skincare, try adding it to your homemade face masks, and you’ll see how great it is! Here are a few DIY face mask recipes with hemp seed oil for you to try.

Info: hemp seed oil isn’t the same as CBD oil. The former is extracted from the seeds of industrial hemp and is rich in fatty acids, while the latter is extracted from hemp leaves and flowers and is rich in cannabidiol. For your homemade face masks you need hemp seed oil, not CBD oil.

Hemp Seed Oil & Pink Clay Face Mask

This balancing, nourishing and moisturizing face mask is perfect for combination skin. Pink clay absorbs excess skin oil and eliminates redness in the T-zone, keeping your skin balanced, while hemp seed oil moisturizes and nourishes dry patches. Working together, these two ingredients moisturize and nourish the skin, relieve irritation and inflammation, and keep the skin soft, supple and radiant.

In a ceramic or glass bowl, mix 3 tbsp pink clay, 3 tbsp white clay (kaolin) and 3 tbsp hemp seed oil. Mix the ingredients together until you get a smooth, thick paste. Add 16 drops geranium essential oil and 10 drops lavender essential oil. Mix again.

Generously apply the mask to dry, clean skin, avoiding the area around the eyes. Leave it on until dry, rinse off with warm water, and apply moisturizer. Use once a week.

Hemp Seed Oil & Spirulina Face Mask

Spirulina is a biomass of blue-green algae, which is used both as a dietary supplement and a cosmetic ingredient. Rich in essential nutrients, particularly protein, dietary minerals and B vitamins, it nourishes the skin, helps to keep the skin hydrated, and improves its texture. The mask also contains green clay, which gently exfoliates the skin, and honey, which makes the skin soft and supple.

In a small bowl, mix 1 tbsp spirulina powder, ½ tbsp green clay, 1 tsp hemp seed oil, ½ tsp honey, ½ tsp vitamin E oil, and several drops of patchouli essential oil. Brew some green or white tea and let it cool. Add the tea into the bowl, drop by drop, to get a smooth, thick paste.

Using a brush, apply the mask to your face, avoiding the area around the eyes. Let it sit for 15 minutes, rinse off with warm water, apply toner and moisturizer.
