5 DIY Avocado Face Masks for Glowing Skin
Avocado is considered a superfood because it is chock full of various nutrients, including unsaturated fats, provitamin A, vitamins C, E and K, B vitamins, and dietary minerals (calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and zinc). Because of its high nutrient content, avocado is also a popular ingredient in homemade facial masks. Check out these DIY avocado face masks if you want to have smooth, supple and glowing skin.
Super Hydrating Avocado Face Mask
Avocado is rich in healthy fats that help the skin replenish moisture and prevent dehydration. In addition to avocado, this mask contains honey that soothes the skin and relieves inflammation, yogurt that lightens and brightens the skin, and lemon juice that produces an antioxidant effect and gives the skin a healthy glow.
Cut a ripe avocado in half, remove the pit and scoop the flesh into a blender. Add 1/3 cup plain yogurt, 1 tbsp lemon juice (preferably freshly squeezed) and 2 tsp honey. Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Apply the mixture to clean, dry skin of your face and neck and let it sit for 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and follow up with your regular toner and moisturizer.

Exfoliating Oatmeal Avocado Face Mask
This is a 2-in-1 face mask that gently exfoliates the skin and helps keep it hydrated. It is perfect for the cold months when your skin needs very delicate exfoliation and extra nourishment. As you might have guessed, the mask contains rolled oats that slough off dead cells from the skin surface and avocado that provides the skin with nutrients and locks in moisture.
Scoop the flesh of half of a ripe avocado into a small bowl and mash it with a fork until smooth. Grind 1 tbsp rolled oats in a food processor and mix them with the mashed avocado. Add 1 tbsp honey, 1 tsp coconut oil, 1 tsp lemon juice, and 2 drops of essential oil of your choice (for example, chamomile, lavender or tea tree). Mix well until all ingredients are combined. Apply the mixture to your skin, let it sit for 20 minutes, gently massage your face with your fingertips and rinse the mask off with warm water.

Extra Nourishing Avocado and Banana Face Mask
If your skin needs some extra TLC, you should definitely try this mask. It consists of only two ingredients that you probably have in your fridge right now. Bananas are rich in B vitamins, potassium and manganese, and avocado is a great source of nutrients, too (we’ve already listed them above).
Mash half of a ripe banana and half of a ripe avocado in a bowl to get a smooth, lump-free paste. Wash your face, gently pat it dry with a towel, generously apply the paste and let it sit for 20 minutes. Wash the mask off with warm water and apply moisturizer.

Balancing Avocado and Egg White Face Mask
This face mask is perfect for oily and combination skin. Avocado keeps the skin nourished and hydrated without clogging pores, while egg whites control sebum secretion, reduce the appearance of pores, and even out skin tone. Working together, these ingredients make the skin look glowing with health instead of shining with oil.
Scoop out the flesh of a ripe avocado into a bowl and mash it with a fork until there are no lumps. Add an egg white and mix with the mashed avocado. Apply the mixture to your face, leave it on for 20 minutes, wash off with lukewarm or cool water.

Refreshing Avocado and Cucumber Face Mask
If you want to pamper your skin, freshen it up and get a healthy, glowing complexion, this mask is just what you need! In addition to its refreshing effect, it helps tighten pores and prevent acne breakouts.
Peel a cucumber, cut it into several pieces and run them in a food processor to get cucumber pulp. Use a strainer to separate juice from the pulp. Take ½ cup of mashed avocado and add 2 tbsp cucumber juice, mix well. Apply the mixture all over your face and leave it on for 15 minutes. Wash your face with lukewarm water and pat it dry.
