5 Coconut Oil Face Masks for Healthy and Glowing Skin
Coconut oil is considered one of the best natural skin moisturizers. In addition, it has an antibacterial effect and doesn’t clog pores, which makes it a great ingredient in homemade face masks for all skin types. Check out these coconut oil face mask recipes that will help make your skin healthy and glowing.
Coconut Oil & Honey Mask for Dry Skin
Dry skin benefits the most from coconut oil masks because they give it all the hydration it needs. In this mask, coconut oil is combined with honey and yogurt that nourish the skin and soothe it, preventing redness and flaking.
Melt 1 tbsp coconut oil in a microwave or double boiler. Make sure not to overheat it! Add 1 tbsp honey (you may need to liquefy it, too) and 1 tbsp plain unsweetened yogurt. Whisk all ingredients together until well-blended. Apply the mixture to your skin, let it sit for 15 minutes, rinse off and apply your regular moisturizer.

Coconut Oil & Turmeric Mask for Oily Skin
Contrary to a popular misconception, people with oily skin can safely use coconut oil since its molecules are too large to penetrate the pores and cause acne breakouts. In this mask for oily skin, coconut oil is combined with turmeric. This spice has excellent antimicrobial properties. It inhibits the growth of acne-causing bacteria, lightens the skin and helps to keep it blemish-free.
To make the mask, melt 1 tbsp coconut oil and combine it with the same amount of turmeric. Whip the ingredients together until smooth. Due to turmeric, the mask is yellow or vibrant orange, but it shouldn’t stain your skin. Apply the mask to your face, let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse away. If your skin tingles a little, that’s all right, but if it starts to burn, you need to rinse the mask off ASAP.

Coconut Oil & Baking Soda Face Mask for Blackheads
This is a cleansing face mask that helps prevent comedones (blackheads) and keep your skin clear. Baking soda acts as a gentle exfoliant and removes dirt, excess sebum and dead cells from the skin surface, keeping your pores from getting clogged. Coconut oil keeps the skin hydrated and prevents inflammation.
Mix 1 tbsp melted coconut oil with 1 tsp baking soda to form a paste. Apply the paste to your skin, focusing on the areas that need special attention (the nose and the chin). Massage your face gently with your fingertips for about 10 minutes, then rinse the mask off.

Melt 1 tsp coconut oil and mix with 1 tbsp aloe vera gel. Apply the mixture to your face and gently massage it for a couple of minutes. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes, then wash your face with cool water and apply your regular moisturizer.
