How to Fight Stress During Autumn
Summer is over and now you have to get back to that crazy rhythm of your life. As the days are getting colder and less sunny and kids go back to school, your stress level slowly climbs up and somewhere in the mid of October you are depressed. We've prepares some useful tips, that will help you fight stress during autumn.
#1 Eat healthy food. Stress always depends on the food we eat, the healthier dishes we choose, the less stressed we feel. Eat lots of vegetables and fruits, whole grains, fish and poultry. Reduce the number of fried and high fat foods.
Try to drink less coffee. Coffee helps you wake up in the morning, but you should avoid drinking it in the afternoon. Coffee makes you anxious and holds you back from sleep.
#2 Sleep enough. Sleeping is the best way to relax and unwind, when you're stressed and tired of routine. Make sure that you sleep 8 hours. If you don't, then set aside your work and have some rest. You won't benefit, if you wake up tired.
#3 Exercise. People, who exercise at least 3 times a weak, feel much better and healthier. They also have better ability to combat stress. If you still don't exercise, then fall time is the best time to start it. But don't do what your body doesn't want to. If you don't like waking up in the morning, then don't start running. Practice intuitive exercise, where slow movements, like in yoga or heavy weight lifting, can give you more good, then cardio.
#4 Take care of yourself. As September begins, you pick up crazy rhythm. But the daily routine makes you forget about yourself and the fact that you also need some care. Find an hour or two during a day (or at least a week) that you will spend for yourself only. It's your “me time”, that you have to enjoy.
#5 Ask for help. You can't do everything on your own. Household, work, kids, all of them need your time and attention. Don't be shy to ask your second half and children for help. They can do some house chores, and thus you will have more free time.
#6 Keep a gratitude journal. It's so easy to forget about the things that make you happy. Fight routine, stress and dull autumn days by keeping a gratitude journal. It's like your own diary, where you write down all things that make you happy and express your gratitude for.
#7 Communicate. Speaking with your friends or relatives is one of the ways to reduce stress. Although having digital devices near you has its own benefits, texting or chatting with your friends won't be as good as conversation. So go socializing and talk to members of your family, your friends or someone from your support group.
