Italian chocolate might be less famous than its Belgian counterpart, but this country has its fair share of chocolate manufacturers that offer high-quality product. Italy even hosts several chocolate festivals including the Turin Chocolate Festival, the Eurochocolate Festival in Perugia, and the Salon du Chocolat in Milan.

The Salon du Chocolat (Salon of Chocolate) is a series of trade fairs for the international chocolate industry held in various cities across the world. The inaugural festival, Salon du Chocolat Paris (Paris Chocolate Show), was held in the capital of France in 1994. Today, the Salon of Chocolat events are held in different cities including Lyon, Marseilles, London, Seoul, Beirut, Brussels, Moscow, Tokyo, and Milan.

The program of the Salon du Chocolat Milano is similar to that of other festivalі of its kind. It features practical demonstrations and workshops conducted by professional pastry chefs and chocolatiers who share some tips on working with chocolate and demonstrate the art and craft of chocolate making. Italy’s finest chocolate manufacturers and international exhibitors showcase their products, of which many you can taste in the tasting area called the Chocosphere.

The Chocolate Fashion Show is one of the festival’s main highlights. Chocolatiers and designers team up to create stunning chocolate dresses that amaze the audience. There’s also a special area for children aged 4 to 10 years known as Chodoland or ChocoFamily. Here children can participate in hands-on workshops and other fun activities.

The Milan Chocolate Show is held at MiCO – Milano Congressi located in Piazzale Carlo Magno. It is one of the largest convention centers in Europe. Each edition of the festival features several dozen renowned pastry chefs and chocolatiers from Italy and abroad and over a hundred exhibitors, attracting tens of thousands of attendees.
