Milan Fashion Week was founded in 1958 by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (National Chamber for Italian Fashion), a non-profit organization that coordinates and promotes the Italian fashion industry. Men’s fashion has been represented at Milan Fashion Week since its inception, and at some point, the menswear edition evolved into a separate event.
Milan Men’s Fashion Week is typically held twice a year: in January for fall/winter collections and in June for spring/summer collections, while the main women’s fashion week, referred to as simply Milan Fashion Week, happens in February/March for upcoming fall/winter collections and in September/October for upcoming spring/summer collections. It is one of the four core menswear fashion weeks alongside Paris, London, and New York.
What distinguishes Milan in the menswear circuit is its emphasis on craftsmanship and commercial relevance. While Paris often prioritizes conceptual or avant garde menswear and London is known for experimental design, Milan has historically been the center of refined tailoring, leather goods, textile innovation, and technically sophisticated luxury clothing.
During Milan Men’s Fashion Week, brands showcase their menswear collections to buyers, stylists, and the media. Since it is first and foremost a trade and industry event, most events are industry-exclusive and invitation-only, but some are open to the general public. These events typically include runway shows, showroom appointments, panels, workshops, exhibitions, and other industry events spotlighting menswear trends for the season.
Runway shows, both live and digital, are one of the main attractions at Milan Men’s Fashion Week. Twice a year, leading industry players present their menswear collections in Italy’s fashion capital. Milan Men’s Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026–27, for example, included shows from brands such as Zegna, Ralph Lauren, Dsquared², Setchu, Dolce & Gabbana, Pronounce, Lessico Familiare, Paul Smith, Simon Cracker, Quasimi, Victor-Hart, Prada, Saul Nash, Domenico Orefice, Miguel Vieira, Giorgio Armani, David Catalán, and many more.
Milan Men’s Fashion Week events are held in multiple venues across the city, including permanent show venues used by Camera Nazionale della Moda every season, as well as brand headquarters, showrooms, industrial spaces, and famous Milanese palazzos.
