Tucson is the second-largest populated city in Arizona behind the state capital of Phoenix. Among other things, it is known for hosting a number of annual cultural events and fairs, including the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, the Tucson Festival of Books, the Tucson Rodeo (Fiesta de los Vaqueros), the Fourth Avenue Street Fair, and many others. VegOut! Tucson is a relatively new addition to the city’s festival calendar, but it has already become popular among both vegans and those who are just getting interested in a vegan lifestyle.
VegOut! Tucson is held at the Whistle Stop Depot, which claims to be the city’s most unique event venue. A former transport company warehouse, it is located in close proximity to Downtown Tucson in the historical Dunbar Spring Neighborhood. With 5,200 square feet of event space, the Whistle Stop Depot is the largest event venue it Tucson and a perfect venue for a vegan food festival.
VegOut! Tucson offers exciting programming filled with various events and activities. Its program features meetings with chefs and healthy lifestyle gurus, lectures and talks on fitness and healthy eating, live music played by local bands and DJs, giveaways, family entertainment, and, of course, plenty of vegan food and drinks to suit any taste.
The festival features over 30 vendors and restaurants that offer healthy vegan food and drink alternatives. VegOut! Does its best to promote local producers and food made from Arizona-grown fruits and vegetables. In addition to regular vegan dishes, vendors offer gluten-free and hypoallergenic alternatives for those who have additional dietary restrictions. At the festival market, you can find plenty of vegan-friendly products, from clothes and skincare to handmade items.
All activities (concerts, culinary workshops, lectures, etc.) are already included in the admission price, so you don’t need to pay extra to attend them. Admission is free for children under 12 accompanied by an adult, but they can take part in the giveaway just like everybody else.
