Law Day in the USA Date in the current year: May 1, 2024

Law Day in the USA May 1 is Law Day in the USA. This holiday is officially recognized and it's meant to remind people of the role of law in the foundation of the country and how important it is for the society.

In some parts of the world May 1 is known as International Workers' Day, the day that honors the struggles of the workers in their fight for better wages and improvement of working conditions. This holiday was promoted by the Communists, whom the government of the USA didn't support, thus President Dwight D. Eisenhower declared May 1 in 1958 to be Law Day in contrast to International Workers' Day. Later the observance of Law Day was codified by Public Law on April 27, 1961.

This holiday is a special day of celebration for Americans, but it is not a governmental holiday. This holiday features some local meetings, sometimes attorneys visit schools and talk to students about the American legal system. Number of luncheons are also hold by some local bar associations to discuss topics, that refer to the law system of the USA.
