This professional day was established by the government of Kyrgyzstan on September 17, 1993 under initiative of the physical training organizations and their working staff. The last Saturday of September was appointed to be an appropriate day for observation.
In 2014 this professional day was moved to April 6. This change in the calendar of the Kyrgyz observances was caused by establishment of International Day of Sport for Development and Peace by the UN General Assembly on April 6. The government of Kyrgyzstan moved professional day of the Kyrgyz athletic trainers and sport professionals to time both observances on April 6. These changes were adopted by a law, signed by Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan.
The National Olympic Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic pays much attention to the development of sports in the country. In 1992 the Kyrgyz athletes participated in the Summer Olympic Games as a part of a joint team. In 1994 Kyrgyzstan participated in the Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer as an independent state.Remind me with Google Calendar
