What Changes Occur During Puberty in BoysAll boys have to go through a very hard time which is called puberty. Boys become men in this very period. That's why parents should know what changes occur during puberty in boys to be ready for it.

Puberty age is a tough period for boys and girls in all respects. A child matures and becomes an adult under the influence of hormonal changes. During the teenage years children a looking to be more independent and make more decisions. That's why the more you control your son, the more difficult his puberty will be for you.

Boy's puberty is characterized by the physical changes caused by hormones. Bones and muscles start to grow intensively at 12. After a while the growth rate slows down, but your son can grow till 23.

Testicles and penis start growing at 10-13. Then voice mutation occurs and boy's voice becomes hoarser. Another sign of puberty is nocturnal emission, an involuntary ejaculation at night. It is absolutely normal, that's why parents shouldn't worry.

With body and body hair growth boys start to feel strong sexual attraction to girls. It's important for teenage boys to know that girls like them. Unfortunately, hormones cause not only bone and muscle growth, but also development of the sebaceous glands, which results in skin problems.

Puberty is also the reason for behavior changes. Aggression towards parents is not a rare phenomenon as teenagers' body and mind are controlled by hormones. Unfortunately, their character changes for the worse. You son can start smoking, drinking alcohol or even try drugs to be like other boys.

What can parents do to support their son? First, it is the father who has to help a teenage boy as the latter needs his dad's advice. Father and son should talk about relationship with girls, body changes, sex, STDs, etc. The father has to teach his son to shave and use condoms. If a boy doesn't have a father, an uncle or a grandfather can help him instead.

There is no sense in handling your son's aggression, as almost any trifle can evoke a burst of anger. Don't teach him the right way to live or bother with your pieces of advice. You shouldn't show that your don't like your son's friends or hobby.

It's easier to go through puberty if your son keeps fit. Sport can help prevent bad habits and instill the right behavioral pattern. Eating healthy food is important as well.

Accept the fact that your son is becoming an adult. Let him be responsible for his acts.

Don't be shy to consult a psychologist if necessary. Moreover, you must do it if you notice that your son:

  • is stressed and self-contained;
  • has appetite problems;
  • feels apathetic;
  • is constantly tired;
  • asks for money all the time;
  • is aggressive.
