The Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC) is the first and largest pop culture convention in the Middle East. It is held every spring in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The inaugural convention took place in 2012. The event is run and managed by Extracake PRA.

MEFCC is a multi-genre pop culture convention showcasing comic books, film and television, science fiction and fantasy, animated films, anime, manga, toys, collectible card games, video games, web comics, horror, and other pop culture genres and elements. The conventions puts a special focus on regionally created comics, games, films and other content such as The Sons of Two Suns, Gold Ring, Freej, Xeno Error, and others.

The inaugural MEFCC took place in April 2012, attracting about 15,000 attendees. The convention featured celebrity guests including Jason Momoa (Stargate Atlantis, Game of Thrones), Laurie Holden (The X-Files, Silent Hill, The Walking Dead), John Rhys-Davies (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Lost World, the Indiana Jones films), Mark Sheppard (Supernatural, Battlestar Galactica, Leverage, Firefly), and Luciana Carro (Battlestar Galactica, Caprica). The exhibitors included Diamond Comic Distributors, Xpanse CGI, Marvel Comics, and many more.

The next year the attendance grew to 20,000 pop culture fans from across the Middle East. In 2014, the organizer had to relocate the convention to the Dubai World Trade Center to accommodate the growing attendance. Today’s MEFCC attracts about 50,000 attendees over three days, having become the main pop culture event in the Middle East and North Africa.

The program of the Middle East Film and Comic Con is similar to that of other fan conventions throughout the world. It includes panels, autograph sessions and photo-ops with industry and celebrity guests, exclusive previews and screenings, workshops and seminars, fan art and cosplay contents, gaming tournaments, etc. The convention has a large exhibitor area, Artists Alley, Games Zone (also known as Geek Out Zone), Manga Town, Comics Village, Kids Zone, VIP Lounge, Cine Club, and other areas.
