The main mission of the Anifilm festival is to showcase the latest trends, technologies, methods and animation techniques in front of a wide audience made up of the general public and industry professionals. It also seeks to support new animation projects and their authors, producers and distributors. Industry professionals from all over the world can use Anifilm as a platform for forging new contacts and exchanging ideas and experiences with their colleagues from other countries.
The target audience of the festival is very diverse. It includes animators and other industry professionals, film students, film theorists, film critics, educators as well as all fans of animated production, including children of all ages.
The program of Anifilm is divided into two main sections: Competition Program and Non-Competition Program. The festival’s Competition Program features several competitions including International Competition of Animated Feature Films (with two main sections, Films for Children and Films for Grown-ups), International Competition of Animated Short Films, International Competition of Student Animated Films, International Competition of Music Videos, and International Competition of Abstract and Non-Narrative Animation.
Non-Competition Program consists of several curated sections including Territorial Focuses, Retrospectives, Jury Program, Midnight Animation, Cartoon d’Or, Dust Classics Off, Taking Stock and Special Screenings, Animo, and more.
Anifilm’s program also features a series of industry events for professionals including lectures, workshops, masterclasses, presentations, and the Visegrad Animation Forum. Other events and activities at the festival include Game Day (a gaming event designed to promote national and international independent games and interactive projects), animation workshops for children and adults, exhibitions, concerts, theater performances, etc.
