New York Bridal Fashion Week emerged in the early 1990s, when bridal fashion designers realized that a dedicated platform to showcase their latest creations would benefit them. Initially, the event consisted of a series of small gathering for industry insiders, typically hosted in private showrooms. As the event grew, it began to include runway presentations, eventually becoming one of the most important events of the year for established and emerging bridal designers.
NYFW Bridal is an industry-focused event for wedding industry professionals, fashion journalists, editors, stylists, influencers, and retail buyers, such as bridal boutiques and department stores. The event functions as both a trend-setting platform and a commercial marketplace.
Designers debut new silhouettes and models at the event, enabling the media to report on emerging bridal fashion trends. Retail buyers attend NYFW Bridal to place orders for the upcoming season. The event gives buyers the opportunity to curate their collections thoughtfully and make well-informed purchasing decisions for the upcoming season. They can view the gowns in person, evaluate their quality, and determine if the designers’ styles fit their customers’ preferences.
Although NYFW Bridal is part of New York City’s broader fashion calendar, it differs from the main New York Fashion Week (NYFW). While NYFW is centralized and focuses primarily on runway shows, NYFW Bridal is decentralized and appointment-based. Although NYFW Bridal includes runway shows, its program has a stronger focus on showroom presentations and private viewings held at various Manhattan venues. These events are invitation-only and closed to the general public.
Each year, renowned fashion designers showcase their latest bridal collections at New York Bridal Fashion Week. The April 2026 lineup, for example, included Abel Honor, Alexandra Grecco, Amsale, Andrew Kwon, Anne Barge, Berta, Esé Azénabor, Francesca Miranda, Galia Lahav, Hayley Paige, House of Idan, Ines Di Santo, Jaclyn WHYTE, Jenny Yoo, Julie Vino, Justin Alexander Signature, Lihi Hod, Markarian, Mira Zwillinger, Monique Lhuillier, Naeem Khan, Nardos, Odylyne the Ceremony, Sareh Nouri, Scorcésa, SEPT, Tanner Fletcher Weddings, Viktor&Rolf Mariage, and WONÁ Concept & Eva Lendel. The event also featured newcomers Alyssa Kristin, Batsheva, FERRAH, Netta BenShabu Elite Couture, OUMA Bridal, Poeza, Priscilla Couture, and RENHUE.
The styles unveiled during New York Bridal Fashion Week usually determine what will be available in bridal salons in the upcoming season. As with all fashion weeks, NYFW Bridal occurs about six months before the upcoming season. This means that gowns unveiled in April become available in stores the following autumn and gowns unveiled in October become available the following spring.
