Gulf Photo Plus (GPP) is a photography center in Dubai that provides photography education through courses, exhibitions, tours, resources and events. GPP Photo Week is one of the center’s biggest events. It is a week-long festival designed to inspire, challenge and connect professional photographers, amateur photographers and photography lovers from around the globe.
GPP Photo Week has a rich and diverse program featuring exhibitions, workshops, photo walks, product launches, and special events. World’s leading photographers come to Dubai to share their experience with photography enthusiasts. There are workshops for different skill and experience levels, so every participant will be able to find the one that is just right for them.
The festival kicks off with PhotoFriday, an action-packed all-day event that features a variety of informative talks, creative seminars, panel discussions, and live demonstrations. Its program consists of 90-minute sessions spread out over four time slots. The sessions are open to all, regardless of skill level.
The program of GPP Photo Week consists of workshops and seminars dedicated to photography, lighting, and processing. All workshops are paid and require advanced booking. There are no week passes, participants have to sign up for all events they intend to visit.
Alongside workshops and seminars, the program of the festival includes special events such as keynotes, portfolio reviews, photo walks, film screenings, photography exhibitions, and social mixers. There’s also a product showcase where leading photography brands present the latest photo gear.
One of GPP Photo Week’s highlights is the ShootOut photography competition. Three visiting photographers are given a secret subject. They have only 20 minutes to conceive, shoot, and process the best possible photograph using only the materials available in the venue. The competition is held in front of a live audience.
