GITEX (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) is a biannual consumer electronics and information technology exhibition, trade show and conference held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Also known as GITEX Shopper (to distinguish it from GITEX Technology Week), it draws IT professionals, regional traders, technology enthusiasts, students and consumers.

GITEX Shopper is professionally managed by and held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DTWC). DWTC is known for managing and producing local, regional and international exhibitions with in-depth market knowledge and unmatched expertise.

GITEX Shopper is the largest event of its kind in the Middle East. The exhibition occupies more than 22,000 square meters of exhibit space and features dozens of exhibitors from all over the world. It is attended by 150,000–200,000 people each year. Attendees and exhibitors come from all over the world, but about 60% are from the Middle East.

As we’ve already mentioned above, the exhibition is held biannually. There’s a spring edition and a fall edition. The exhibition runs for more than a week and is open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on all days. Unlike GITEX Technology Week which is an industry-only event designed for entrepreneurs and investors, GITEX Shopper is open to the public. It as attended by people of all ages, children below the age of five even get a free pass (please not that children below the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult).

GITEX Shopper features over a hundred exhibitors that represent consumer electronics, information technology, leisure & lifestyle, gaming & entertainment, office automation, and domestic appliances. As the event is simultaneously an exhibition and a trade show, attendees can buy the products they like. Top 3 selling products at GITEX Shopper are smart phones, feature phones and laptops. The exhibition has unique products because some exhibitors use it to present their new products.
