Day of Tax Office Workers in Belarus Date in the current year: July 14, 2024

Day of Tax Office Workers in Belarus The Day of Tax Office Workers is a professional holiday in Belarus celebrated on the second Sunday in July each year. It was officially established in 1998 by President Alexander Lukashenko.

Fiscal policy in the Republic of Belarus is carried out by the country's Tax and Duties Ministry. It was established in April 1990 as the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Finance of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic.

Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the Service was transformed into the Main State Tax Inspectorate under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus. As it was no longer controlled by the Ministry of Finance, it was given the same rights as other ministries and special agencies of the government.

In 1997, the Main State Tax Inspectorate was replaced with the State Tax Committee of the Republic of Belarus. Finally, in 2001 the Tax and Duties Ministry was formed from the Committee. Currently it comprises over 150 tax inspections.

The Day of Tax Office Workers was created to recognize the contribution of all people involved in the implementation of the country's fiscal policy. Professional holidays in Belarus are normally working days, but this holiday always falls on a weekend.
