Ecologist's Day in Russia Date in the current year: June 5, 2024

Introduction of Russian Ecologist's Day was a part of a campaign supporting international observation of the United Nations World Environment Day. Every country participates and does everything possible to save world's environment and the government of Russia took decision to observe Ecologist's Day every year and organize different activities related to the observance.

Ecologist's Day was observed for the first time in 2008. That year there was also a proposal to declare the day as national Russian Nature Day. Nowadays annual events raise public and governmental awareness on environment issues and nature conservation in the Russian Federation.

Nature reserves and national parks annually organize different events on Ecologist's Day. Protected areas of Russia organize excursions, cleaning activities and educational programs.
