Grand Jour de Champagne

Grand Jour de Champagne
Grand Jour de Champagne is an annual champagne festival held in early November in the Czech Republic. Main events take place in Prague, but there’s also a parallel program running in Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic and the historical capital of Moravia.

The Grand Jour de Champagne festival was founded in 2007 and has been held annually since its inception. It invites all connoisseurs of champagne and other sparkling wines to taste the best sparkling wines from various countries and regions, including authentic champagne from the Champagne wine region of France.

Every November, the capital of the Czech Republic is transformed into a center of exquisite gastronomic pleasures. Grand Jour de Champagne is one of the world’s largest events dedicated to champagne. The festival is held in a number of venues throughout Prague, including the Buquoy Palace and various restaurants and hotels.

Grand Jour de Champagne features more than a dozen exhibitors that offer over 30 kinds of champagne and other sparkling wines, which are accompanied by delicious hors d'oeuvres cooked by guest chefs, some of whom have worked at Michelin star restaurants. The 2017 participants included, for example, Philippe Gamet, Piper Heidsieck, R. et L. Legras, Salon and Delamotte, Taittinger, Alfred Gratien, Barnaut, Bonnaire, De Venoge, Diebolt-Vallois, Fleury, G.H. Mumm, Henri de Verlaine, Larnaudie-Hirault, Louis Roederer, Mailly Grand Cru, and Perrier-Jouët.

The program of Grand Jour de Champagne includes a big champagne exhibition, a series of tastings, and banquets in the best restaurants of Prague and Brno. Most events have limited capacity, so attendees are encouraged to book in advance. There is no single admission ticket to the festival, each event has separate admission cost.
