EurOmnis is an annual tech conference for developers of the Omnis Studio application development studio. Organized for and by the Omnis developer community, it takes place in Europe (typically in the Netherlands, but other countries have hosted the conference as well).

EurOmnis focuses on rapid-application development (RAD), an approach to software development that puts less emphasis on planning and more emphasis on process. RAD principles are used by various development environments, from Delphi and Visual Basic to Macromedia Flash. Omnis Studio is a RAD tool that allows to create enterprise, web, and mobile applications for various operation systems.

The EurOmnis conference was founded in 1999 by Nick Harris and Fred Brinkman. They conceived it as a forum for Omnis developers from various countries to exchange ideas and techniques for using Omnis Studio. The main goal of EurOmnis is to give developers an opportunity to meet face to face, share experiences, implement new ideas, and learn about the latest developments in rapid-application development and programming in general.

Originally, the conference program was based on structured sessions with guest experts. Since 2007, EurOmnis has been centering on smaller and more intimate sessions encouraging more two-way communication. The new format was introduced to offer conference attendees an opportunity to really learn instead of simply attending lectures.

The organizers believe that a small session-based program is the best format for interactive learning that gives attendees a possibility to share knowledge and make the most of their colleague’s knowledge and experience. Speakers and mentors at EurOmnis are both skilled software development professionals and experienced teachers who find the best ways to pass their knowledge and experience.
