The inaugural Moscow Flower Show was held in 2012. Over the years, it has become one the most popular and anticipated events in the Russian capital, as well as the most famous Russian flower festival abroad.
The show is aimed at professionals and enthusiasts alike. Its professional program includes lectures and workshops conducted by leading landscape design and gardening specialists, as well as the annual International Park Forum. Ordinary visitors will find here beautiful flower and landscape design displays, concerts, fashion shows, special activities for children, and other entertainment.
The heart of the festival program is the Garden Contest. For the contest, renowned landscape designers from different cities and countries create unique gardens at MUZEON, transforming the festival space into the quintessence of original ideas. The contest has a theme, but despite sticking to the theme, each garden has a unique concept and style. The winners are chosen by an international jury consisting of respected industry professionals.
Alongside the Garden Contest, the Moscow Flower show also hosts a competition for artworks and trade stands, a trade fair, a market, and a special competition for children. The Planet of Flowers contest is open to school students aged 6 to 17. They can submit individual and group projects (garden concepts) on a theme declared by the festival committee. The jury selects 30 projects that are displayed at the festival.
The Moscow Flower Show transforms a small part of Moscow into a realm of beauty, creativity, bold ideas and ample opportunities. Every year, it attracts thousands of people who are eager to open a wonderful world of landscape design.
In 2020, the event was held online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
