HOTELIERO is a Ukrainian professional organization which unites hospitality industry professionals, giving them an opportunity to exchange experience and knowledge. It was created for people who consider their work in the hospitality industry a calling and not just a job. To recognize their contribution to the development of the industry, HOTELIERO inaugurated two prestigious awards: Hospitality Awards International (originally known as the Ukrainian Hospitality Awards) for the best hotels and the National SALT Restaurant Awards for the best restaurants.
The National SALT Restaurant Awards was founded in 2013, and it has since become the main event of the year for the professional restaurant community of Ukraine. Its mission is to help increase the competitiveness of market players, facilitate the development of the restaurant industry in Ukraine, and inform consumers about the quality of Ukrainian restaurants. The award enables the Hoteliers & Restaurateurs Club to identify and reward the best restaurants in Ukraine, consolidate industry players, and helps consumers navigate the quality of restaurants in Ukraine.
The best restaurants of Ukraine are chosen in more than a dozen categories: Best Coffee Shop, Best Meat Restaurant, Best Fish Restaurant, Best Ukrainian Cuisine Restaurant, Best National Cuisine Restaurant, Best Confectionery, Restaurant with the Best Wine List, Best Beer Restaurant, Best New Restaurant, Best Bar, Best City Cafe, Best Hotel Restaurant, Best Out-of-Town Restaurant, Best Pub, Best Bakery, Best Street Food.
The winner in every category receives a unique trophy, the famous SALT Copper Frying Pan made by de Buyer, a French cookware manufacturer whose products are mainly targeted at professional and serious gourmet consumers. Over the years, this trophy has become a recognizable quality symbol of the best restaurants of Ukraine.
Every year, the National SALT Restaurant Awards ceremony gathers over 400 people, including the leading restaurant owners and founders, international industry experts and developers, journalists, auditors, consultants, and other people involved in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
