Customs Officer's Day in Belarusia Date in the current year: September 20, 2024
Customs Officer's Day was established in Belarus by presidential decree in 1996 . The date was chosen to commemorate the day when the USSR State Customs Control Service was reorganized and became the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus. This event took place on September 20, 1991 after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Establishment of this professional day gave an opportunity to emphasize the importance of customs officers for prosperity of the county and acknowledge contribution of the customs service for economic development of Belarus.
This professional day is usually observed only by customs officers. They accept congratulations from relatives, friends, colleagues and governmental representatives. Foreign colleagues from Ukraine and Russia also often congratulate Belarusian customs officers on this event.
