National Packaging Design Day is celebrated every year on May 7. From a scientific perspective, it involves understanding materials and focuses on how to keep products safe and usable over time, including concerns such as durability and environmental impact.

Technology plays a key role by enabling new production methods, such as advanced printing techniques and smarter, more sustainable materials.

National Packaging Design Day was launched in 2015 by Design Packaging Inc., a retail and product packaging design firm. Although the company’s website is no longer active, packaging designers nationwide still celebrate the holiday because their work definitely deserves recognition.
