Arbor Day in Chile Date in the current year: July 6, 2024

Arbor Day in Chile Arbor Day is celebrated in Chile every year on July 6. This event attracts thousands of people who want to participate in improvement of environmental situation of their country.

The problem of deforestation is very acute in Chile. During 10 years, from 1985 to 1995, nearly 2 million hectares of Chilean forests were lost. The trees were cut down for pulp. As the result of this uncontrolled process, Chile has the world's largest expanse of radiata pine tree farms and most endangered native forests.

Deforestation led to another environmental problems, that are soil erosion and air pollution. The government of Chile implements the plan Reforestemosla Patagonia, that encourages people around the country to participate in Arbor Day. They should plant trees in the ancient Patagonia. Everyone's efforts are valued, only together the nation is able to revive the Chilean native forests and keep their beautiful land and fertile soils for the future generations.
