Statistician's Day in Ukraine Statistician's Day is celebrated in Ukraine annually on December 5. This professional day was instituted by President of Ukraine in 2002.

President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma signed the Presidential Decree on establishment of Statistician's Day on December 2, 2002. The first festive events were organized three days later. The date of the holiday was chosen to commemorate the anniversary of the first Ukrainian Census that had been held in 2001. The census became one of the most scaled statistical events in Ukraine since the country declared independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

Statistician’s Day is one of the professional days, that is why it's observed only by the workers of the field of the Ukrainian statistics. They follow the corporate traditions and also accept congratulations from their relatives and friends on this event. There are no festive events on the national level, however, people enjoy the corporate parties.
