Day of Radio, Television and Communication Workers In Ukraine Day of Radio, Television and Communication Workers is an official professional holiday in Ukraine celebrated on November 16. It was established by President Leonid Kuchma in 1994, who supported the initiative of the country's telecommunication workers.

November 16 is the professional holiday of about 250,000 Ukrainian telecommunication employees. Among them are radio and television hosts, directors, cameramen, producers, screenwriters, editors, reporters, engineers, and other professionals involved in production of radio and television programs or broadcasting. Ukraine has dozens of national and local radio stations and televisions channels, most of which has emerged in the years of the country’s independence.

On their professional holiday, Ukrainian radio, television and communication workers are congratulated by their family, friends, coworkers, superiors, and government officials. Some government organizations and NGOs held awards ceremonies on the occasion, awarding the most distinguished telecommunication employees for their hard work, dedication, and professional accomplishments.

Just like any other professional holiday in Ukraine, Day of Radio, Television and Communication Workers is not a non-working day unless it falls on a weekend.
