As soon as the Internet became a reliable form of digital media distribution, the company moved its services online and opened Content Reserve, a digital repository for publishers to distribute eBooks, audiobooks, and other downloadable media.

OverDrive launched Read an eBook Day in 2014 to promote reading on digital devices. eBooks are a great invention. They enable us to never part with other favorite stories and to read them anytime, anywhere. With an e-reader, smartphone or tablet, you can enjoy a great book whether you’re lounging on a couch in your living room or taking a plane trip. They help to save space in your suitcase or carry-on and can be accessed simply by clicking a button.
