Youth Day in Singapore Date in the current year: July 7, 2024

Youth Day in Singapore Every year young people of Singapore celebrate Youth Day on the first Sunday in July. This holiday marks the beginning of the second semester and third term at schools of Singapore.

Singapore is the second densest sovereign state in the world after Monaco. It's a multinational country, where the majority of the population is Chinese, while Malay and Indian are minorities. Singapore witnesses steady growth of its population, but the territorial limits caused adoption of the governmental birth control program.

Youth Day is celebrated in Singapore by all young people under the age of 21. Various activities are organized at schools and universities at the local level, while the government is responsible for national events. Traditionally they include sports competitions and exhibitions. Children are also encouraged to participate and special workshops are organized exclusively for them.

Sometimes Youth Day may be postponed to other Sunday in July by the governmental decision due to organization of national events. The next day after Youth Day is usually a school holiday and students enjoy an additional day off.
