Occupation Safety and Health Professional Day in the USA Date in the current year: May 8, 2024
Occupation safety plays an important role in life of every working man and woman around the world. Everyday they return home safe and sound, but never notice all people, who stand behind it. Occupation Safety and Health Professional Day (OSHPD) was established in the USA to honor these unsung heroes.OSHPD was established in the USA in 2006 by the American Society of Safety Engineers in order to recognize the hard work of men and women, who do their best to make all working places safe. This observance is annually held during North American Occupation Safety and Health Week, taking place on the first full week of May. OSHPD is observed on Wednesday of this week.
On this day all employees are encouraged to say “thank you” to those people, who make sure that one more day at work is a safe one. Celebration of OSHPD also raises the importance of occupation safety and health profession and makes it more popular. Today this profession is one most challenging and rewarding careers.
