Spring Day The spring equinox falls in the Southern hemisphere on September 22 or 23. This day is known as the beginning of the spring there. However, Argentina, Uruguay and Bolivia celebrate Spring Day on September 21, one or two days before the actual equinox.

Spring Day is not an official public holiday, however, its loved and observed by people across the named three countries and it has certain traditions.

Spring Day in Argentina also coincides with Student's Day. Students of all levels (except of primary school) have no classes on this day. Teenagers and young adults like going to parks, beaches and other outdoor venues in the larger cities to enjoy picnics or sports. Administration of Argentinian cities offers youth free rock concerts and number of other entertaining shows.

Bolivia also celebrates Spring Day together with Student's Day, however, this day is also known as Día del amor, or Day of Love. Young people send their friends, mates or lovers cards, boxes of chocolates and flowers.
