Lawyer's Day in Ukraine Lawyer's Day is a Ukrainian professional holiday celebrated on October 8 every year. It was officially established in September 1997 and has been observed ever since.

President Leonid Kuchma inaugurated Lawyer's Day to support the initiative of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Union of Lawyers of Ukraine, and the Union of Advocates of Ukraine. This professional holiday unites all Ukrainian legal professionals, such as legal experts, notaries, judges, investigators, prosecutors, etc. Lawyers play a key role in any society, protecting the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens.

Ukrainian Lawyer's Day is marked with various events and activities, including (but not limited to) conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, etc. Numerous events are held at higher law educational establishments. Government officials traditionally congratulate lawyers on their professional holiday and express gratitude for their hard work. Some legal professionals are rewarded for their outstanding accomplishments.
