On September 7, 1999, President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma signed the decree “On Pharmaceutical Worker's Day”. The new professional holiday was initiated by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. It aims at recognizing the contribution of pharmaceutical workers to the development of the country's health care system.
Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry has demonstrated considerable growth over the last few years. The country's pharmaceutical plants produce over 3,000 pharmaceutical drugs. The main types of medicines produced by Ukrainian manufacturers are drugs for the cardiovascular system, painkillers, vitamins, drugs for the respiratory and digestive systems, medicines for endocrine problems, and antibiotics.
There are approximately 350,000 pharmaceutical employees in Ukraine. They work at pharmaceutical companies, research laboratories, pharmacies, medical institutions etc. On their professional holiday, they are thanked for their hard work and contribution to the development of Ukraine's pharmaceutical industry.Remind me with Google Calendar
