Global Wind Day Date in the current year: June 15, 2024

Global Wind Day The European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) annually organize celebration of Global Wind Day on June 15. This is a day, when wind energy is celebrated and information over wind capabilities is exchanged.

Oil, gas and coal are important energy resources for mankind, but they are not renewable, at the same time there are other resources, that can satisfy our need for energy. These are wind and sun, that are an alternative resource, used everywhere around the world.

Many companies around the world are involved into production of wind energy. These companies annually organize different events and activities, that give people opportunity to learn about how wind energy can change the world.

Annual celebration of Global Wind Day takes place on four continents. Everyone can visit offshore and onshore wind farms, wind workshops and participate in wind parade. Although many events fall on June 15 itself, they are often organized on days and even weeks before Global Wind Day and afterwards.
