Schools Tree Day in Australia Date in the current year: July 26, 2024

Schools Tree Day in Australia Schools Tree Day is a special day, when all preschools, kindergartens, primary and high schools across Australia participate in the nationwide activity of planting trees. This event is annually organized on the last Friday in July.

Planting trees is one of the ways to overcome the environmental problems in Australia and children are also encouraged to do something special to improve the situation. That is why all schools across Australia are encouraged to participate in Schools Tree Day.

Schools Tree Day is annually organized by Planet Ark, a non-profit environmental organization. This observance was created only for children of school-age and it's a part of National Tree Day. Planet Ark has developed special lesson plans and learning resources appropriate for children of any age. The teachers and principals may register their schools for participation in Tree Day and have special lessons, dedicated to environmental protection in Australia and around the world.

The main activity for the children is planting trees. Small children from preschools and kindergartens primarily learn how to plant seedlings and take care of them.
