Diplomatic Workers' Day in Kyrgyzstan Diplomats of Kyrgyzstan have their own professional day to observe. This is Diplomatic Workers' Day, that annually falls on October 24.

The government of Kyrgyzstan established Diplomatic Workers' Day on October 21, 1998. The date of celebration was timed to coincide with United Nations Day, that is observed in member countries of the UN. The UN General Assembly proposed United Nations Day being a public holiday, but the government of Kyrgyzstan chose to create a special professional day for all workers of diplomatic service of Kyrgyzstan.

Celebration of this holiday is aimed at recognition of the important role that diplomatic workers play in the implementation of foreign policy and external economic relations. Diplomats of Kyrgyzstan are responsible for a worthy representation of national interest in the international arena.

Traditional congratulation ceremony is held to celebrate Diplomatic Workers' Day. The distinguished employees are awarded with valuable prizes. The diplomats also receive congratulations from their relatives and friends.
