IFA Berlin (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin – International Radio Exhibition Berlin, also known as the Berlin Radio Show) is an annual exhibition for consumer electronics and home appliances held in Germany. The event is organized by the German Association for Entertainment and Communications Electronics in cooperation with Messe Berlin.

IFA Berlin is one of the oldest industrial exhibitions in Germany. It was founded in 1924 and was held annually until 1939. The exhibition was discontinued because of the Second World War and was revived in 1950 as a biennial event. Since 2005, IFA Berlin has been held every year. Over the years, the exhibition has taken place in several German cities, including Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main and Stuttgart. It found its permanent home in Berlin in 1971.

IFA Berlin is the place where exhibitors can present their latest products and developments to the general public. Ever since its inception, inventors and electronics corporations have given public demonstrations of their inventions and products at the exhibition. These inventions have included the Volksempfänger radio receiver, the first practical audio tape recorder, the Volksfernseher TV set, and the first compact audio cassette recorder.

The event welcomes exhibitors from all over the world. It is held at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds (Expo Center City) owned and operated by Messe Berlin. IFA Berlin is one of the world’s leading trade shows for consuming electronics and home appliances, with a total attendance of about 240,000, including approximately 140,000 trade visitors from all over Germany and abroad. By the way, then number of foreign trade visitors is constantly increasing.

IFA Berlin is more than an industrial exhibition that offers a comprehensive review of the international market. It is a major business platform and the main meeting place for retailers, buyers, and experts from the industry and the media. Along with the exhibition itself, the event features special areas, keynotes, conferences and conventions, concerts, and other events and activities for industry professionals and the general public.
