IFA Berlin is one of the oldest industrial exhibitions in Germany. It was founded in 1924 and was held annually until 1939. The exhibition was discontinued because of the Second World War and was revived in 1950 as a biennial event. Since 2005, IFA Berlin has been held every year. Over the years, the exhibition has taken place in several German cities, including Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main and Stuttgart. It found its permanent home in Berlin in 1971.
