Comic Con Midlands is an annual fan convention organized by Monopoly Events as part of its family of pop culture events held across the United Kingdom. Like all Monopoly Events conventions, it celebrates all things pop culture and brings exciting guests from the worlds of movies, television, anime, comics, gaming, streaming, and sports entertainment.

Monopoly Events CEO Andy Kleek organized his first convention, For the Love of the Force, in 2015. Originally focused on the Star Wars franchise, the convention expanded its theme to include other sci-fi franchises and was rebranded as For the Love of Sci-Fi for its second edition. In subsequent years, Monopoly Events launched other conventions in its “For the Love Of...” series, including For the Love of Horror, For the Love of Wrestling, For the Love of Anime, and For the Love of Retro.

In addition to the “For the Love Of...” conventions, Monopoly Events organizes a series of multi-genre fan conventions branded as Comic Cons in various cities in the United Kingdom. In 2023, the company announced its expansion to the Midlands region, and in June 2024, the inaugural Comic Con Midlands was held at the Telford International Centre, a venue that had previously hosted numerous science fiction and fan conventions.

The first convention was a success, so the following year, Monopoly Events organized two editions of Comic Con Midlands: one in Telford and one in Birmingham. Comic Con Midlands: Birmingham took place in July at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), and the Telford edition returned to the Telford International Centre in September. In 2026, Comic Con Midlands returned to Birmingham, and the Telford edition was replaced with For the Love of Retro.

Like other Monopoly Events conventions, Comic Con Midlands features celebrity guests, including film and television actors, voice actors, professional wrestlers, streaming personalities, and gaming industry guests. The 2026 guest lineup, for instance, included Peter Capaldi, David Bradley, Richard Armitage, Manu Bennett, Graham McTavish, Adam Brown, Sylvester McCoy, Evangeline Lilly, Brian Krause, Holly Marie Combs, Lucy Hale, and Brenna D’Amico. Events featuring celebrity guests include stage panels, Q&A sessions, autograph sessions, and photo ops. Tickets for autographs and photos are purchased separately, in addition to admission tickets. Stage events are included with admission.

While celebrity appearances are the primary draw for many attendees, Comic Con Midlands offers a rich, diverse program in addition to that. This includes cosplay events, such as competitions, stage showcases, workshops, demonstrations, informal gatherings, and photo ops; a gaming area featuring both modern and retro games; a shopping area where visitors can purchase official and fan merchandise; prop displays and replica sets; an artist alley; and other fun activities.

Comic Con Midlands offers one-day and weekend tickets in four categories: Diamond Pass (includes a queue jump on entry and for autograph sessions and photo ops), Standard (ages 10+), Concession (ages 5–9), and Toddler (ages 1–4). Toddler tickets are free but still need to be purchased so that every attendee has a ticket.
