Autographica

Autographica is a unique festival where fans from all over the world can meet their favorite celebrities including actors, athletes, pilots and even astronauts, get their autographs, and interact in a relatively informal setting. The show takes place in the UK.

Autographica is produced and managed by the event management company Showmasters Events. Showmasters specializes in pop culture conventions. Its projects include the Film & Comic Con and Collectormania events in London, Sheffield, Glasgow, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Newcastle, Belfast and other cities across the UK, the London Gaming Market, PLAY Expo Manchester, SHERLOCKED: The Official Sherlock Convention, Destination Star Trek Europe, Sherlocked USA, Comic Con Amsterdam, and more. Autographica is one of the company's most popular events. It is the world's largest autograph shows.

At most pop culture conventions, events involving celebrity guests are just a part of the program (although a very important part, that's for sure). That's why Autographica is so unique. This convention is completely dedicated to meetings with celebrities. Unlike most fan conventions that take place at large exhibition centers, Autographica is held at a hotel where the celebrity guests live. Attendees have a chance to book a room at the same hotel, increasing the possibility of running into their favorite celebrities during breakfast or in the hotel bar.

The convention doesn't focuses solely on media guests, though it does feature quite many actors. Among the guests there are athletes, astronauts and even military pilots. For example, the guest list of the 2017 edition included Space Shuttle astronauts Charlie Walker, Ken Cameron and Gregory Chamitoff, actors Joseph Milson (Sarah Jane Adventures, Casino Royale), Julia Nickson-Soul (Rambo, Star Trek, Babylon 5), Graydon Gould (The Forest Rangers, Supercar) and Karl Held (Star Trek, James Bond), pilots Joe Kinego and Eldon “Al” Joersz.

It should be noted that autographs and professional photo-ops with guests need to be purchased in addition to the admission ticket (although some types of passes already include photoshoots). The program of the convention also includes a variety of lectures, receptions, merchandise stalls and the Gala Dinner that gives the chance to chat informally with some of the guests.
