Ukraine is one of the few countries that have their own aerospace industry with a full production cycle of military, transport and passenger aircraft (as of 2012, there were nine such countries in the whole world). That’s why aircraft manufacturing plays a huge role in the economy of Ukraine, it’s one of the most high-tech sectors of the country’s industry. Ukraine’s leading aircraft manufacturing and services company is Antonov State Company.
The Aviasvit XXI aerospace expo is organized by the Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine (former Ministry of Transportation and Communication), the State Space Agency of Ukraine, the Kyiv City State Administration, the Kyiv Oblast State Administration and Antonov State Company. Originally the exhibition was held at the Antonov Airport located near the city of Gostomel (the northwestern suburb of Kyiv). From 2014 onwards, it is hosted at the International Exhibition Center in Kyiv.
The main goals of the exhibition are to establish and expand collaborative relationships between aerospace enterprises, to promote Ukrainian aircraft in international markets, and to popularize aviation among the general public. The exhibition presents examples of modern aerospace technology, parts and components for airport equipment and related services, technological processes, and materials for high-tech engineering. It allows attendees to see the accomplishments of the country’s aerospace industry. The event also facilitates business newtorking, further development of industrial cooperation, and search for new business partners
Along with the exhibition, the program of the Aviasvit XXI expo includes scientific symposia and conferences, seminars, business meetings, round tables, demonstration flights off new aircraft, press conferences, air shows, presentations, excursions, and a lot of other events.
