The inaugural Japan Golf Fair was held in 1966. It was conceived as an industry-only event primarily designed for the representatives of golf schools and clubs and the manufacturers of golf equipment and related products. Over the years, the show has expanded and now welcomes a much wider audience including those who have never played golf before but are interested in the game and consider trying their hand at it.
The Japan Golf Fair used to be held in Tokyo but after the 2016 edition the event moved to Yokohama. It is held at PACIFICO Yokohama (Pacific Convention Plaza Yokohama), one of Japan’s largest convention and exhibition centers. The fair has a large exhibitor area where attendees can find an impressive assortment of golf apparel, equipment, and related goods. Other options for shoppers include a tournament goods charity sale and an auction.
The program of the fair also includes a fashion show for golf apparel, a golf and local tourism corner, seminars and workshops for business attendees, a challenge corner, and more. Golf clubs and schools from all over Japan present their services at the fair.
The Japan Golf Fair is the largest gold-related event in Asia. It features about 200 exhibitors, most of which are from Japan, although there is a small number of international exhibitors. The fair attracts over 50,000 attendees over the course of the three-day event. This number includes the general public, business attendees and journalists. Attendance is free of charge.
