Prosecutor's Day in Kazakhstan Date in the current year: December 6, 2024

Prosecutor's Day in Kazakhstan Prosecutor's Day is an official professional day in the Republic of Kazakhstan. It's annually celebrated on December 6, marking the anniversary of adoption of the resolution on creation of a unified prosecution system in the Kazakh SSR.

The prosecutor's office was created in Kazakhstan on July 13, 1922. Its power was limited until 1937, when after adoption of the constitution of Kazakhstan the prosecutor's office became an independent law enforcement agency.

The urgent need towards reformation of the prosecution office was demanded in August 1991, when the staged coup attempt led to subsequent dissolution of the Soviet Union. Shortly before declaration of independence, the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR adopted a resolution, that made the prosecutor's office of Kazakhstan the supreme authority supervising the execution of laws.

Anniversary of this event is celebrated in Kazakhstan as Prosecutor's Day. This holiday is listed as one of the official professionals days, however there was no special decree establishing this day.
