Statistician's Day in Kazakhstan Date in the current year: November 8, 2024
Statistics is the study of the collection, analysis, interpretation, presentation, and organization of data. Applied statistics plays quite an important role in society, that is why in most countries there are special statistical bodies. Kazakhstan is no exception.
On November 8, 1920, the government of the Kazak Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic approved the Regulations “On State Statistics in the Kazak ASSR” and established the main statistical administration of the Kazak ASSR. The anniversary of this event was later designated as an official professional holiday, Statistician's Day.
On their professional holiday, employees of Kazakhstan's statistical agencies are congratulated by their superiors and government officials. The most distinguished statisticians are awarded with special prizes for their hard work, dedication, and accomplishments. Just like any other professional holiday in Kazakhstan, Statistician's Day is not a non-working day unless it falls on a weekend.
