The history of International Being You Day can be traced back to 2011, when Dr. Dain Heer published his bestseller titled Being You, Changing the World that provides a set of practical tools which can help readers discover their true selves and learn to live their lives with more authenticity and freedom.

Over the years, the book has been translated into multiple languages and adapted into a series of seminars and workshops conducted by trained facilitators, launching the Being You movement. Ten years after the release of the book, Dr. Heer created International Being You Day to encourage people all over the world to explore and discover the gift of who they are and what they are capable of.

International Being You Day is exactly what it says on the tin: it is a day when you can just be you without the weight of societal expectations holding you down and learn to love yourself for who you truly are.
