Finance Employees Day in Tajikistan Date in the current year: December 7, 2024

The main task of the financial authorities of Tajikistan is to draw up and organize the execution of the state budget. The central executive body responsible for the implementation of state policy in the areas of finance and state budget is the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan. The Ministry of Finance is also responsible for areas such as taxes, accounting and financial reporting, insurance, foreign exchange and financial markets, securities and state valuables depository.

In addition, the structure of the ministry includes various subordinate institutions and organizations, such as the State Assay Supervision, the State Valuables Depository, the Agency for the Development of Securities and Special Registrar, the Tajik State Financial and Economic University in Dushanbe, the State Insurance Company, etc.

The Ministry of Finance is guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Law on Public Finance, as well as by legislation applicable to particular areas that fall within the scope of its responsibilities such as budget and treasury, public debt, taxation and customs duties, accounting and audit, licensing, securities, etc.

Finance Employee Day is celebrated not only by employees of the Ministry of Finance and its subordinate organizations and institutions, but also by bank employees, because banks and other lending financial institutions are also a part of the country’s financial system.

According to the National Bank of Tajikistan, there were 63 lending financial institutions in Tajikistan as of September 2021: 14 traditional banks, 1 Islamic bank, 27 micro loan funds, 17 micro loan deposit organizations, and 4 micro loan organizations.
