Breast Health Day Date in the current year: October 15, 2024

Europa Donna was set up by a small group of women from various European countries in 1994 to increase breast cancer awareness and emphasize the importance of early diagnosis. Breast Health Day is the flagship campaign of the European Breast Cancer Coalition.

Breast Health Day aims to spread information about breast health and raise awareness of the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer among European women and girls. Europa Donna launched the Breast Health Day campaign in 2009 in partnership with Spanish former World No. 1 professional tennis player Arantxa Sánchez Vicario.

On October 15, various events are held in more than 40 countries throughout Europe. Europa Donna heavily relies on social media to disseminate information about key aspects of breast health. Its annual campaigns include videos, posters, leaflets and other materials aimed at a wide audience. Each campaign has a motto, previous mottos have included “Healthy Lifestyle for Breast Health”, “Make Good Choices for Your Breast Health Every Day”, and others.
