Family Day in Kazakhstan Date in the current year: September 8, 2024

According to Nursultan Nazarbayev, family has always played the role of a link between different generations in the society of Kazakhstan. It has always been and will always remain the keeper of cultural and spiritual traditions of the Kazakh people. The main goal of Family Day in Kazakhstan is to promote family values and to strengthen spirituality in the country.

Family Day was created in order to raise public awareness of important family-related issues such as reproductive health, family planning, and the prevention of unwanted pregnancies. It also aims to draw attention of the general public to common family problems, especially those of young families, large families, single-parent families, as well as the families of veterans and people with disabilities.

Family Day in Kazakhstan is marked with various events and activities, including concerts and other cultural events, sports competitions, lectures on family planning and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, congratulations to young spouses who married or became parents on family day, and events honoring couples that have been married for 50, 60 or 70 years.
