Teachers’ Day in Israel Teachers' Day has been celebrated in many countries around the world for a long time, while in Israel it's a new holiday. It was established at the national level only in 2013 and it's annually celebrated on Kislev 23.

Teachers' Day was established in Israel to highlight public appreciation to teachers and educators, because they are the key figures of the successful future of the society. Celebration of this holiday also raises the importance of teaching among the youth and encourages talented people chose teaching as their job.

Since Teachers' Day is a new observance, government, nongovernmental organizations, parents and teachers unions and celebrities promote this holiday and organize different events to thank teachers for their hard work. For instance, red carpet, hundreds of balloons and giant banners are used to decorate schools and universities and greet teachers.

Students and their parents have an opportunity to sent personal greeting cards, e-cards and even video messages to show their gratitude to the teachers.
