Inventor's Day in Thailand Inventor's Day in Thailand annually falls on February 2. The country honors its outstanding persons, who contributed in world scientific progress.

Inventor's Day was resolved by the Cabinet of Thailand on May 10, 1994. According to the resolution, February 2 annually became Inventor's Day. The date was chosen to commemorate His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who is considered as the father of Thai invention, for invention of Chai Phatthana aerator in 1989 and receiving its patent in 1993.

Chai Phatthana aerator is a paddle-wheel machine, that has a form of floating buoy. The aerator is made to add oxygen to water, resulting in an inexpensive and effective waste water treatment system.

In 2001 the National Research Council of Thailand was assigned as a leading agency to coordinate other government agencies and private sector to organize the celebration of Inventor's Day. Since then an annual exhibition is held to expose the inventions and innovations, made by the Thai. The inventors can share experience among themselves to achieve fruitful cooperation and research.
