Teachers' Day in Singapore Date in the current year: August 31, 2024

Education in Singapore is ranked to be one of the best in the world. Students from Singapore take first places in the TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study), scoring the highest points in the Maths and Science.

Singapore is a multicultural country, that is why student's are educated only in English, as the first language. Other spoken native languages (Chinese, Tamil and Malay) are also taught at schools. Every student also has to learn one Humanities (in addition to English and Mother Tongue) and one Science (in addition to the Maths).

Celebration of Teachers; Day is an official day off at schools of Singapore. Normally celebrations are organized the day before, students have a half day off to participate in festive events. They put on performances to entertain and honor their teachers.
